28 Weeks

I AM HUGE!!!

Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 28 Weeks Finally into my 3rd trimester!!! Only 12 weeks left!

Size of baby: 14.8in and 2.25lbs (we finally made it the pounds!!!)

Total Weight Gain/Loss: Gained around 20lbs still. I go up quickly, then just hang out there for awhile.

Maternity Clothes: A mix of Maternity and regular clothes. Pants are mostly maternity but I am still wearing mostly my regular shirts. All of my maternity shirts are huge still. Even though my belly is ginormous.

Gender: GIRL!!!

Movement: LOTS of movement all day long. I hope she continues the moving during the day and sleeping at night thing. I LOVE feeling her and watching her. It's the most amazing thing!!!

Sleep: Not so good. I wake up several times a night to reposition. My pregnancy pillow helps a lot but I still don't sleep very soundly. And now I have scary dreams to add to the mix. Usually she is big and doing things a newborn shouldn't do, like walking and talking.

What I miss: Having my lung space to myself.

Cravings: The only thing I really crave right now is soft serve ice cream!!!

Symptoms: Being short of breath, still having nausea and occasionally throwing up.

Best Moment this week: Getting things ready. I LOVE washing all the little clothes I've gotten. I even bought some shoes that I am TOTALLY excited about even though I know she will probably only ever wear them for a short time. Also today at work some of my friends were able to see her move which was pretty cool.A little sneak peek of my puppy. The coolest thing about all these shoes is that they were $1.50 or less at a consignment shop and garage sale.

Sneak Peek at the Nursery

I've decided not to put pictures up of the nursery projects until the entire nursery is complete. However, after a rather eventful day today I've decided to put a little peek into what the nursery is going to look like. I am super excited and nervous about how it is going to turn out. Especially with the paint color. The walls will all be green and a VERY BRIGHT green it is. Even a little brighter than I had planned.

We've decided to do the base green and then accent with pink. We have some ideas for things to put on the wall that are pink and then planned to also paint our glider and a little table pink. My sister in law Stacia was so grateful to come down and help with the painting, however neither of us really planned out this next part. We decided that painting on the porch would be the best for the pink things. We planned to lay a piece of foam down to protect the concrete from our mess. As I was trying to move things around I bumped the can of paint that had already been opened. And now we have a pink porch.

We were actually able to get quite a bit of paint BACK into the can without it being too messed up. We were also able to get the majority of the pain off of the porch with water and a LOT of scrubbing. We probably would have been done with our project by the time we actually started had we not had this mishap. And because of this a slew of other unfortunate events took place. Stacia cut her toe with the scraper, we ran into the BIGGEST spider either of us had ever seen outside of the zoo, Stacia almost drank a fly for her cup but spit it out when she felt something MOVING in her mouth, and I stepped backward off of the porch while rearranging the things to be painted. Not only did I step off but I made sure to run my shin down the side of the cement.
Eventually we finished a first coat on everything but then did not have time to do a second coat before Stacia had to take off. Joe and I did the second coat on the walls but the smaller pink things will have to wait for another day to be finished. I'm even going to include a picture of the "theme"/material that I am using to make all of the bedding. The colors in this picture are off a bit from what they actually look like in person.
And I couldn't write a post without adding a bump picture. My mom took this picture the day we made the crib bumper. Unknowing to us that it would be an ALL DAY project. We had a lot of fun making it but it was definitely time consuming and more difficult than anticipated. Also, this child BETTER BE A GIRL! haha 26 Weeks
